With over 20 years of experience designing the sonic feel for cinema, broadcast and streaming television content, I’ve contributed to award-nominated projects across feature films, documentaries, and television series including Twisted Metal, High School Musical 3, and Waco: American Apocalypse.

About Me

Eric Gillingham

My name is Eric Gillingham, and I am a freelance sound designer/sound effects editor and Foley editor for feature film and television. I have over 20 plus years of experience working on creating the sonic landscape for feature films, documentaries, short films, docu-series and TV series for most major studio and streaming platforms.

My passion has always been to help drive a project by sonically supporting the vision of the directors, producers, and showrunners. I work alongside my supervisors and re-recording mixer colleagues to streamline the process and develop the project’s overall sonic characteristics to best complement the stylistic approach to the visuals. Some recent projects I’ve had the pleasure to be involved in are the first season of Twisted Metal (for Peacock), the fourth season of Documentary Now! for IFC, Drama Club for Nickelodeon, and the mockumentary series “Players” for Paramount Plus.

I have worked alongside sound crews for Warner Brothers, Monkeyland Audio, and Studio 8 Sound (to name a few), as well as freelance on several Studio and Independent features.

I am also a member of the Board Of Directors of the Motion Picture Sound Editors, and a member of IATSE local 700, the Los Angeles Chapter of The Motion Picture Editors Guild.
